Victoria Drzyzga, MD
Outstanding Resident Award Winner

The Outstanding Resident Award award seeks to reward a mature family medicine resident who demonstrates exceptional interest and involvement in family medicine and exemplifies a balance of the qualities of a family physician.

The Indiana Academy of Family Physicians proudly names Victoria “Tori” Drzyzga, MD as the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Resident Award.

Dr. Dryzyga is a graduate of Wayne State University and Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, and a 2024 graduate of Memorial Family Medicine Residency in South Bend. She will continue as a Health Service Management Fellow with the residency program while she completes her Master of Public Affairs degree this next year.

Tori has contributed to her community in many ways, serving as coordinator for Reach Out and Read, as a team member on the Influenza Vaccine Quality Improvement Project, and generally as a champion for resident wellness within the program. But perhaps her greatest residency highlight is the creation and implementation of a street medicine clinic in South Bend - something that she first implemented in Pontiac, MI while in medical school. The clinic provides medical care bimonthly for people experiencing homelessness, and coordinates services across various community organizations.

Her work is highly regarded by her colleagues and faculty. “Dr. Dryzyga is a model of what we want family physicians to be in their communities… and she is doing these things already as a resident.”

The IAFP congratulates Dr. Tori Dryzyga for receiving the Outstanding Resident Award and wishes her luck as she begins her career in family medicine.
