Be in the Heart of the Action | Physician of the Day
Interested in politics? There is a reason many of our Physicians of the Day serve year after year - because serving as the Physician of the Day puts you in the heart of the action at the Indiana Statehouse. Get the chance to gain a first-hand experience in how state government operates while seeing patients throughout the day inside the Statehouse. This fun and exciting program allows you to observe the legislative process firsthand, meet with your state legislators, and leave a remarkable impression about family medicine on the General Assembly.
IAFP members can volunteer to spend one or more days at the Statehouse during the legislative session. As the POD, you will provide episodic primary care services for legislators and their staff when the state legislature is in session. Please note: This volunteer opportunity is a service we provide to the legislature and an experience for you, our members. Lobbying while serving as the POD is neither encouraged nor allowed.

IAFP Political Action Committee (PAC) | Give Now
When Indiana state legislators think health, we want Family Medicine to be at the front of their minds. One of the easiest ways to do this is with campaign contributions through the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians PAC. A strong PAC allows family physicians to build relationships with legislators and gives us a seat at the table when important issues affecting your practice are discussed. Help keep our voice strong!
